About Me
OK, for those of you who want to know about me, here’s a bit about me.
My name is Nirenjan (which you would have probably figured out from the title of this website) and I’m a 26 year old guy from Chennai, India, currently in the SF Bay Area, California.
I finished my Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics & Communication Engineering from Sri Sivasubramaniya Nadar College of Engineering, Kalavakkam which is about an hour’s drive from Chennai. I dabble in a lot of things, including, but not limited to digital signal processing, computer programming, web page designing, electronics, and networking. I’m a hardcore Linux geek, and I love working with open-source software.
For a couple of years after I graduated, I was a software engineer working in HCL Technologies in Ambattur, Chennai. I used to work in the Embedded Systems group of the Core Technologies Division and program microcontrollers, DSP processors and stuff like that. (If that sounds like Greek and Latin to you, don’t worry, it’s not critical
).
After that, I studied at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I graduated with a Master of Science in Information Technology with specialization in Embedded Software Engineering. Pretty much what I was working on, except that I was studying it
Now, I’m working with Redback Networks, an Ericsson company, in the Bay Area. My work involves a lot of packet processing and network management. No details beyond that, sorry.
I love computers and the amazing things that they can do. I was an active SETI@Home participant, until they pulled out their new system. I play a lot of games whenever I feel like it, including Freespace, Unreal Tournament, Quake, Command & Conquer, Need for Speed, etc. (Unfortunately, I can’t play any of these while I’m in the office
)
There’s a lot more about me, but you could get that from my blog
.
If you want to contact me, my mail ID is nirenjan @ gmail . com (Looks funny? I’m trying to avoid spam).
