Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu

Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu - the latest Kamalahassan flick to hit the silver screen. The movie starts of with the quote Another Episode in a Police Officer’s Life, leading us to believe that this is a sequel to Kaakha Kaakha.

I’ll give my verdict up front: Go to the theatre without any expectations, and be prepared for an immensely enjoyable movie. I should also mention that this movie is not for the faint of heart or even the mildly squeamish folks due to the fact that VV contains a lot of graphic scenes involving dismemberment, blood, rape, etc. Wonder how the Censor Board gave it only a U/A rating instead of an A. Anyway, my advice to viewers, don’t compare Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu with Kaakha Kaakha. They both stand out on their own as great movies. See them as individual movies, and enjoy them both…

Anyway, for those of you who want some detail on the movie, there’s more…

FAQ

Q: Is VV a family movie?
A: That depend’s on what you consider to be a family movie… anyway, it’s not something that I would consider to be a family movie. I’d rather watch it with friends, and definitely not with kids… As I said earlier, I think the Censor Board should have given it an A rating and not U/A.

Q: What’s the story behind VV?
A: Simple, the camera follows Kamal as he investigates a murder. If I tell anything more than that, I’d reveal the full story. Read some of the other reviews on the net if you want the full story.

Q: How is the movie?
A: This is really a trick question, since the perception is subjective. But as I said before, I enjoyed the movie immensely. I feel it is a good, no, it’s a great movie.

Q: Compared to Kaakha Kaakha?
A: Don’t compare it to KK. Granted, some scenes in VV might be reminiscent of KK, but think of it as an independent movie.

Q: Is there any mature content?
A: The entire movie is filled with mature content, at least in my opinion. Loads of swearing, which are censored by blanking the voice there, a few rape scenes where you think that you might see some skin, but no. The camera work was excellent. There are also a couple of scenes where there are naked bodies of dead women, with the entire body being blurred. Not to mention dismemberment.

Q: Is it difficult to understand the story?
A: Only if you have the mental capacity of a slug.

Q: Would you watch it again?
A: YES!!!

Your review of VV is very nice. I fully agree with your views. But you would have mentioned few words abt Harris and Kamal justification to the
    role and Gowtham’s narration.
