Exporting data…

Saturday, September 24th, 2005

It can get kind of irritating. Although I have written an export script for Yakkerati to export it to MT format, the MT import script for WordPress is screwing up somewhere, and I’m in no shape to fix it up…

Still, I’ve managed to get the updated Import from Blogger script and write a script to export from Yakkerati to that format…

Debugging - It’s Really Bugging!!!

Thursday, September 22nd, 2005

Ever notice when your code doesn’t work, you spend a week trying to debug it, trace the problem, bang your head in frustration, veer on the brink of suicide, and finally find out what you think was the problem? You correct it and find out that it still doesn’t work. Go back and repeat, until you find out that it was one teeny tiny stupid mistake in some obscure location in some other module?

Nice Service

I just completed an online transaction and paid through my credit card. Within 5 minutes, HSBC bank calls me up to confirm the order. Nice.

Mind Your Language

Thursday, September 15th, 2005

This TV show is one of the funniest I’ve seen till date. In the late 90’s, Mind Your Language was telecast weekdays 9 pm on Star Plus. All that changed after the arrival of CAS (not to mention the sob stories).

Anyway, I just bought a bunch of CDs of Mind Your Language - 18 episodes in all. Just finished watching the first CD and laughing till my stomach hurt. If you get the chance, do grab it.

He… She… #1

Sunday, September 11th, 2005

He & She are talking…

He: I’d like to ask you something…

She: Just a minute da, somebody’s calling… Hello? Hi!!! Wassup? … (blah blah blah)

[10 minutes later]

She: OK da, bye! [Puts the phone down]. Yeah what were we talking about?

He: I was saying…

She: Just a minute da… [repeat]

[20 minutes later]

She: Where were we?

He: I…

She: Just a minute da… [repeat]

[30 minutes later]

She: What were we talking about?

He: Forget it!
