Orkut Down

Sunday, August 29th, 2004

There’s something very funny going on with orkut. I couldn’t log in and tried resetting my password. But even after that it didn’t go in. I tried again a second time without success. Guess I have to just leave it for now.

Mobile Madness

Saturday, August 21st, 2004

This week, I’ve been toying aroung with a few mobile phones. I bought a Samsung C100 set for my mom, took her Nokia 6610 and gave my 3315 to my sister. But yesterday, my mom started complaining that she wasn’t happy with the alarm feature and wanted her old 6610’s alarm. Finally we decided that she keeps her old set and I took the C100. At least I can use it more effectively than she can. :D

Outbound Training

Sunday, August 8th, 2004

Yesterday, the training department of HCL organized an outbound training at Silver Sands, East Coast Road, for the entire batch of campus inductees. It was a day full of fun games, all with a lesson on corporate team building, strategies, communication, etc., etc., etc. We all had a great day at the beach “resort” (just a clearing in the middle of a clump of trees near the beach and a few tents on stilts).

Now, I know that ESDC people can be placed either at Vadapalani or Ambattur, so I’m hoping desperately for Vadapalani.

Work

Thursday, August 5th, 2004

My training programme is in the final leg with us having Advanced C++ now. It will get over either tomorrow or on Monday, after which we have a technical presentation to complete. After that, we’ll be placed in our different divisions. Now I’ve finally got the information that I’m placed in the Embedded Systems division. They’ve asked me to report to the Vadapalani office on Wednesday after the training is over.
