Yet another day where we got a free hour, which again was spent playing volleyball. Unfortunately for us, sports hour is only once a week and if that weren’t enough, we have a class after the sports hour. God knows what the college is upto…

Now that my work in spreading the word is over, let’s get back down to the usual post. My class in charge is a really great guy. He let us off for sports during the seminar hours. Also my optical comm lecturer. He let us free in his hour (which was the last hour), which of course we went for sports. By the way, sports right now is volleyball. Hopefully, I might make it to the department team for the next sports day. I ought to win atleast one sports cup in my life. 
I’ve downloaded The Ketchup Song by Las Ketchup. It replaces Du Hast as #1 in my hit list. You can’t get enough of the beat. And the lyrics are near impossible to go in for karaoke. Ultimate song. Thanks to Ashish, who mentioned that in his blog.

Looks like I get another “vacation”. Since the staff are going for valuation, my college has declared the 21st, 22nd and 23rd to be “holidays” which will be compensated later. Apparently, they want to give us a holiday and compensate it later. Stupid, considering they are compensating our semester and study hols!!! Anybody got a screwdriver?
The end of my “vacation”. Tomorrow, I get back to college to begin my sixth semester. I hear it’s a load of theory, only theory and nothing but theory. :-). I just saw Youth a couple of days ago. The movie is quite good except for a few boring scenes. On the other hand, Vivek’s comedy capers kept me in splits. Too bad most movies today have the same backbone. Love triangle, a break up, and a happy ending as usual.
I have begun a new system of rating movies in any language. Story gets 10, the acting 5 and the comedy or special effects or whatever else I want gets a max of 5. I’d give Youth a rating of 13 out of 20. The split up is 5 in the story (usual kathai), but the acting and comedy were excellent. Enough for me to rate them each 5 points. However, I feel I should deduct a couple of points for a some rather boring scenes in the movie. Which is why I gave only 13 instead of 15.
It’s been a couple of ups and downs for my listing in Google. About a month and a half back, my site was listed first when I searched for “Nirenjan”. Thanks to KK for linking my site. Two weeks back, my site wasn’t even listed. I was rather shocked when I discovered that. Last week, it came back in 1st place. Let’s hope my site stays where it is.
I’ve been working on an encryption scheme similiar to the German Enigma machine used during World War II. So far both encryption and decryption have proceeded without any hitches. The only thing I need is to find out how secure the system is. My model works with only printable characters. I’ve been working on a model that works on all characters, however, that model is not yet complete. Who knows, maybe Microsoft will even adopt my scheme in their next release of Windows? If not, there’s always Mac & Linux. ;-D
